The calculator uses your item dimensions to suggest a package size from your list in package preferences or one of Etsy's common box sizes. If there is not a package listed large enough for the calculator to suggest to hold all items, then shipping is figured on each item. #2 Not having a variety of box/mailer sizes listed in package preferences not only for one item to fit in but for multiple items to fit in. If you double box you'd use the smaller boxes size. If you fold/roll the item, use that size. Not the size box/mailer you're mailing it in. Item dimensions are the item + any padding ONLY. #1 putting the box size instead of the item size. Shop manager > shipping settings > package preferences > enter custom sizes.īuyer's get charged shipping on each item due to not having calculated shipping set up correctly and usually due to 1 or both of these issues: You enter package sizes in package preferences. Shipping profiles are only for mail classes offered, handling fees if you add any and processing times. Package sizes are not entered on a shipping profile. This applies to the size you enter in the shipping section, box/mailer sizes in package preferences and when you print a label. I am suppose to put the length which is 12x3x10 right backwards really.I am really frustrated cause I can not figure this out and this is driving me batty!!! HELP or package sizes are always entered 12x9圆 in descending order. So I do not know if I have things written down incorrectly in my shipping profiles or what.Let me throw this out here too.if a box has the written numbers on outside of box 10x3x12. I have played around with this and it is just not working correctly. So I am not sure if the system is looking at a bubble mailer as a BOX like 19x13x1. I know that it kicks it out of the bubble mailer because it now has gone to one pound and 7 oz.BUT when I go into an older order to use the etsy label to play with it and using a box that is 12x3x10 for 4 signs it asks for $15 and some change. Once you put 3 in the cart that is when it jumps. This item weighs 10 oz, but when a customer puts 4 of these in her cart the shipping goes to $63.Crazy huh? I do not know where Etsy is getting the box size to figure this. When one is purchased it can go into a bubble mailer which is about $4 or $5 and 2 would be $8 or $10. Now here is the scenario: The listing has been set up for a sign that true size is 12 x 6.50.now in the listing that needs to be entered so it will work correctly should be lower than that, right. Ok everyone I am having a hard time here when getting these shipping profiles to work in a customers cart to work correctly.
